Entry#2. Halloween! Magical Time of Year

The Month of October can be as magical as Christmas time! Okay, maybe not as magical but it does not mean spending time with your kids or significant other is not as much fun.

I love that our kids enjoy watching our favorite movies from when we were kids in the late 80's and 90's. From "Ghostbusters" to "Hocus Pocus", our family movie time in the month of October is filled with spooky and great movies for the whole family. There are so many great movies for every age, here is a great Youtube video that provides top 10 Halloween movies and brief summary of each movie. https://youtu.be/uG2v7T_hZl0   

For those that rather go out and enjoy these festivities with their loved ones. There are a lot of local farmers that have corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and hayrides available for the whole month even through November. There are also some local hunted corn mazes, for those that have not been traumatized by "Jeepers Creepers". Be sure to look for local news, go to local news website, and or Facebook pages for details of local farms.

Entry#1. Halloween Blogs

First time I heard of blogging when introduced in English 102,  I could not help but think they are time consuming 😉 and did not understand the point of needing a blog for class. However, after reviewing different types of blogs I like the idea of conveniently sharing thoughts and ideas on so many topics. Also like the ability to incorporate content within the blogs to personalize and make it more relatable. With the holidays and festivities around the corner, blogs are great opportunity to share ideas, examples, and recommendations.

Talking about festivities, before Halloween Season 🎃 ends be sure to check out Josh Ocampo's "Watch These Horror Movies if you Hate Gore", this blog includes a brief summary of the movies and why they would be a perfect flick to watch during these spooky nights. DO NOT forget to review some tips and ticks to help you make this Halloween a spooky one! Emily Price gives useful ideas in "Use Alexa to Up Your Halloween Game with Spooky Tunes, Screams, and More". However, I was hoping that she was able to incorporate more out-of-the box ideas when using Alexa. She does give an idea of using Spotify or Pandora to play spooky music is a great idea because it will play variety of songs. Hola! My name is Lubia Arriaza, I was born in beautiful country called Guatemala. I came to this country when I was eight years old. That is when I met my parents for the first time. They had left me with my grandmother since I was one year of age and I was coming to a different country with complete strangers! I know talk about major therapy sessions, right?! 

I am 32 years old and I am a mother of three amazing children ages four, eleven, and sixteen. Yes! I know, I have a sixteen year old. She will attend GCC next year as a dual student.  

My hobbies include watching movies with my family and sleeping. Yes! sleeping is a hobby :) I think as a mother your hobbies became your kids interest and hobbies. However, I have learned to incorporate my interests with theirs. 

My focus of this blog is to include as much of my personality as possible and allowed within the writing assignments.
